Celecoxib is a COX-2 inhibitor, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), use for relief of inflammation causing pain and swelling.
Uses:
To treat arthritis, acute pain, and menstrual pain and discomfort.
Pain or swelling relief should provide relief to enable performance of normal daily activities.
Caution for treating a chronic condition such as arthritis, because of side effects of long-term use may outweigh the benefits of pain relief. It is advice to use non-drug treatments and/or using other medications to treat your pain.
This drug works by blocking the enzyme in your body that makes prostaglandins. Decreasing prostaglandins helps to reduce pain and swelling.
